Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, op. 64 was completed in 1844, three years before his death, and is the last of his large scale orchestral compositions. It stands as a mainstay of the violin repertory and is one of the most popular among all Violin Concerto’s. This performance of the orchestral accompaniment was recorded by the orchestra Compagnia d'Opera Italiana, conducted by Antonello Gotta.
